Ashwaganda Tincture

(Withania somnifera)

1oz (30mL) Tincture. Organically grown root infused in Maine distilled Certified Organic grain alcohol.

Suggested amount: 20 drops in 1oz water 1-3 times/ day (morning and early afternoon). Shake well before use. Sediment is natural.

We tend our Ashwaganda from seed to harvest. In early spring, the seeds are sown warm and protected. The seedlings grow for several weeks and are moved into larger pots before being transplanted into the garden. Throughout the season, their green lobed leaves unfurl as the plants branch and stretch toward the sun. By late summer, prolific yellow flowers give way to tiny lantern-wrapped fruit which mature to an orange red and are packed with tiny seeds. We gather and process the seeds to begin again come spring.

Around the first frost of autumn, as the breeze turns brisk and the sun’s glance angles from its southern seat in the sky, we carefully loosen the roots from the soil. Plant by plant we gather then carefully wash, trim, dry, and process.
